Sewing and Quilting Machine

With the advancement in sewing machine design, quilting can be done easily with some practice nowadays.

One important factor that determines the quality of quilting is the density of the thread. Under the fixed stitch speed of most conventional sewing machines, the density of the thread is fully controlled by the movement speed of the fabric. Instead of relying on the experience level of the user, a consistent thread density can be achieved by controlling the speed of the needle relative to the movement speed of the fabric.

PixArt's Optical Tracking Sensor (OTS) can be used to provide the relative movement of the two axis. By feeding the information to the control system of a sewing machine, the closed-loop speed of its needle can be attained and monitored. The information can also be used to provide relative movement position which will further enhance the performance of automatic quilting with different patterns.
