Sewing and Quilting Machine

Thanks to the advancement in sewing machine design, quilting nowadays can be easily done through some practices.

One crucial factor determining the quality of quilting is the density of the thread. Under the fixed stitch speed of most conventional sewing machines, the thread density is fully controlled by how the user manually moves the fabric at a certain speed. Instead of relying on the sewer's experience level, a consistent thread density can be achieved by regulating the needle's speed relative to the fabric's movement speed.

PixArt's Optical Tracking Sensor (OTS) can be used to provide the relative movement of the two axis. By feeding the information to the sewing machine's control system, its needle's closed-loop speed can be attained and monitored. The information can also be used to provide relative movement position, which will further enhance the performance of automatic quilting with different patterns.
