Optical Encoder

PixArt is venturing into the industrial application industry by introducing incremental optical encoders.

PixArt's encoder is based on optical principles to sense rotational or linear motor movement converting into digital form for providing information such as position or speed. Featuring high resolution and low error rate, the optical encoder is an ideal feedback device in motion control systems.

The encoder in a closed-loop control system communicates with a microcontroller to output the speed and position data that reflects the electrical motor's movement. The output is in differential pairs for signal strengthening, making the system more robust against noise.

Since PixArt's encoder IC has a very small form factor, it is also highly applicable for small-size motors.
